Punjab Congress president and Ludhiana MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring took a dig at Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. He said that they are roaming the streets of Ludhiana to get the Rajya Sabha seat vacated for Kejriwal.
He said that the AAP leadership is looking at its defeat in the by-election on Ludhiana West seat and that is why its two senior leaders Kejriwal and Mann have started camping here, even though the by-election has not been announced.
‘AAP cannot win Ludhiana West seat’
He said that it is not that both the leaders are campaigning for party candidate Sanjeev Arora, who has not been announced yet. He claimed, both the leaders are showing their desperation to get the Rajya Sabha seat vacated for Kejriwal. He said that no matter what happens, AAP can never win the Ludhiana West seat.
Raja Warring took this dig at Kejriwal
Amarinder Singh Raja Warring expressed confidence that no matter how many AAP leaders land in Ludhiana and no matter how much they misuse the resources, people will no longer be swayed by their false promises.
Taking a dig at Kejriwal, he said that it is unprecedented that the leader of a party which claims to be a national party is roaming the streets of Ludhiana for the assembly by-election yet to be announced.
The seat fell vacant after the death of Gurpreet Gogi
The party has fielded Rajya Sabha member and famous industrialist Sanjeev Arora for the by-election to be held on the Ludhiana West seat which fell vacant after the death of MLA Gurpreet Gogi.
However, it is not yet clear whether Sanjeev Arora will resign as a member of the Rajya Sabha before contesting the election or after winning the by-election.
Gurpreet Gogi died due to bullet injury
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Ludhiana West MLA Gurpreet Gogi has died due to bullet injury. Joint Commissioner of Police (JCP) Jaskaran Singh Teja had said that the bullet hit Gurpreet Gogi’s temple. He said that the bullet was fired from the MLA’s licensed pistol. Police said that this incident happened on the night of January 10 at around 11:30 pm.
