The hand grenade bomb blast in Sector-10, Kothi No. 575, Chandigarh, seems to be linked to Pakistan. Yes, this has been revealed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in the Chandigarh District Court in the charge sheet filed in the Special Court. The NIA investigation has revealed that the hand grenade HG-84 used in this attack was made in Pakistan. The investigating agency has named Pakistan-based terrorist Harvinder Singh Rinda and USA-based gangster Harpreet Singh alias Happy Pasia as the masterminds who carried out this incident. The next hearing will be on April 15.
The NIA investigation also revealed that the hand grenade used for the attack was made in Pakistan. These grenades are made only in Pakistan and Bangladesh. Terrorist Harvinder Singh Rinda has been living in Pakistan for a long time and this hand grenade was brought to India through him.
The bungalow belonged to a retired SP
According to the chargesheet, on September 10, at around 6 pm, two unidentified miscreants came in an auto and threw a hand grenade in bungalow number-575 and caused an explosion. Initial investigation revealed that this bungalow belonged to retired SP of Punjab Police Jaskirat Singh Chahal, who lived here till a few years ago. The aim of the attackers was to target Chahal, but he was not present in the bungalow at the time of the incident.
Supply came from Pakistan
NIA investigation revealed that terrorist Harvinder Singh Rinda and gangster Happy Pasia were behind this blast. The investigating agencies had arrested one accused from Amritsar in this case, while the other accused was caught from Delhi the next day on the basis of mobile location. The arrested accused were identified as Rohan and Vishal Masih of Punjab. They had hired an auto for Rs 500 to go from Sector-43 ISBT to Sector-10 bungalow. The driver of this auto, Kuldeep, has also been arrested by the investigating teams.
Rinda and Pasia run a target killing gang
Investigation has revealed that gangster Happy Pasia, along with Pakistan-based terrorist Harvinder Singh Rinda, carries out target killings. The NIA said that Rinda and Pasia had also given targets to some youths to kill several people in Chandigarh and Punjab in 2023. The State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) had arrested four youths from Mohali last year, who revealed the conspiracy of target killing during remand.
