The Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association has today declared 9 May 2025 as “No Work Day”. This decision has been taken in view of the ongoing tension in the border areas and the ongoing blackout in Chandigarh.
In an official notice issued by the secretary of the association late on Thursday night, it was informed that all the members of the bar are informed that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the sensitivity of the situation and the potential threat posed by separatist forces.
There will be no work in the High Court
The notice said that keeping in mind the safety and interests of all the bar members, there will be no work of any kind in the High Court on May 9. This decision has been taken unanimously by the association so that any untoward incident can be avoided and the law and order situation can be maintained.
It is worth noting that for the past few days, the situation in the border areas has remained tense and the power supply in Chandigarh is disrupted. Due to this, the work of the High Court has also been affected.
