Air attack warning in Chandigarh, siren sounded: Pakistan attacks Punjab for the third time, rocket fragments found in Bathinda, search operation near Pathankot airbase

Date:

An air attack alert was issued in Chandigarh. Siren was sounded for about 10 minutes. Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav said that people should stay inside their homes. Stay away from windows or open spaces. He said that the situation is being monitored.

A day before, a drone attack was carried out by Pakistan in Chandigarh. Here the drone was shot down with the defense system S-400.

On the other hand, the third attack was carried out in Punjab this morning. A drone attack was carried out at 5:30 am in Khasa, Amritsar. India retaliated by shooting down 2 drones with the defense system S-400. One of them was a small drone and the other was a big drone.

After the late night attack in Pathankot, the police has started a search operation near the airbase. Punjab Police personnel are searching the fields. Here too, the sound of 3-4 explosions was heard at 4:30 am.

On the other hand, pieces of rockets have been found in the fields of village Tugwali in Bathinda. SSP Amneet Kaundal said that the area was sealed at night. The army team has reached the spot. A rocket has also been found fallen in Kamahi Devi in Hoshiarpur. Explosions were heard at 8:15 pm in Ucchi Bassi. There is an army camp here.

On the other hand, the internet has been shut down in Faridkot. This order has come into effect from 12 midnight to prevent rumours from spreading.

Pakistan attacked a day before as well

On Thursday night, the airbase in Pathankot was targeted. According to news agency ANI, a Pakistani jet has been shot down in Pathankot. However, this has not been confirmed by the government. Drone attacks took place at two places in Jalandhar. However, India’s air defense system destroyed them in the sky itself. There was no damage in the attack. Drone movement was also seen in Bathinda.

Earlier, on the night of 7-8 May, Pakistan fired rockets and missiles at military bases in Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Adampur, Ludhiana, Bathinda and Chandigarh in Punjab. However, India’s air defense system neutralized the missiles in the sky itself. Rockets and their pieces were found fallen in 4 villages of Amritsar, Dudhala, Jethuwal, Pandher and Makhanwindi.

Punjab government on alert, team of ministers will reach border districts

Punjab government has started preparing to deal with the situation. After the cabinet meeting today, 10 ministers will visit the border districts. They will inspect hospitals, fire stations, ration and emergency services. Ministers Lal Chand Kataruchak and Dr. Ravjot Singh will go to Gurdaspur, while Kuldeep Dhaliwal and Mohinder Bhagat will take charge of Amritsar.
