A conspiracy was being hatched to blow up the police station with the IED recovered in Chandigarh. This conspiracy was being hatched by terrorists Happy Pasiya, Mannu Agwah, Billa 420, Gopi Nanwasaria and terrorist Harinder Singh Rinda sitting in Pakistan. This has been revealed in the police investigation. After this, instructions have been issued to the police stations of Punjab and Chandigarh to remain alert at their level.
At the same time, after the arrest of terrorist Happy Pasiya gang accused Jobanjit Singh alias Billa and Sumandeep alias Simma arrested by Crime, their third accomplice accused Harvinder Singh alias Harry of Babbar Khalsa gang has been arrested with a pistol and 3 live cartridges. There are 5 criminal cases registered against the accused in Punjab.
Was waiting for the next order
According to the police, the arrested accused used to work for money. They used to get messages about where to pick up IED, pistol or other items from, and they used to pick them up from there. Similarly, they were told that a police station has to be blown up. However, it has not been revealed yet which police station in Chandigarh or Punjab was being planned to be blown up. The police nabbed the accused before the blast in the police station. Due to which the Chandigarh Police is also not taking it lightly now. Due to this, all the police stations have been asked to remain alert at their level.
Accused arrested with RDX from Sector-39
On the basis of secret information, Chandigarh Crime Branch arrested two suspects coming from village Maloya on May 8 near Sector-39 Jiri Mandi. The accused have been identified as Jobanjit Singh alias Billa resident of Hardoh Putli, Amritsar and Sumandeep alias Simma resident of village Chahla Kalan, Gurdaspur.
Jobanjit Singh is wanted in several terrorist incidents, including RPG attack on Kila Lal Singh police station, firing on liquor shops and jewellery shops. Cases under NDPS Act and firing and theft are registered against Sumandeep.
Police have recovered 2 pistols (32 and 30 bore), 9 live cartridges, one IED, 2 circuits, 2 battery units and one remote control from the accused. The case was handled by the Crime Branch under the supervision of SP Jasbir and DSP Dheeraj.
