Online auto appeal system to start in Chandigarh: No need to run around offices; accountability will increase if action is not taken within the stipulated time

Date:

Chandigarh Right to Service Commission has taken a big step to ensure that government services reach the general public on time. Now if a citizen’s government work is not done within the stipulated time, he will be able to complain online from home instead of visiting departments.

Not only this, if no action is taken on your complaint within the stipulated time, then this complaint will automatically reach the officer who is at the level above him. Then that officer will also have to resolve your complaint within a stipulated time.

At present, 441 services of 31 departments of the Union Territory of Chandigarh have been notified under the Right to Service Act. It is mandatory to complete these services within the stipulated time limit. In case of delay by any department, the applicant can first appeal to the First Appellate Authority and then to the Second Appellate Authority, who in most cases is the top officer of the department. But till now this process is completely manual, due to which people have to make rounds again and again for information.

Auto appeal system will also be implemented

Now the Right to Service Commission is taking it towards digitalization. In the first phase, the facility of online appeal will be started and after this the auto appeal system will also be implemented. Under this system, if the officers do not hear the matter on time, then the matter will automatically go to the higher officer.

The commission will not only keep a record of the settlement of complaints, but will also record how many of the citizens who had given complaints were actually provided services. Chief Commissioner Dr. Mahavir Singh has given clear instructions to all the departments to go beyond the formality of settlement and ensure that people actually get a solution.

Initiative to improve ease of living

Dr. Mahavir Singh, Chief Commissioner of Chandigarh Right to Service Commission, said that this initiative is a big step towards improving ease of living. This will especially provide relief to the poor and middle class people who are forced to visit the departments again and again. He said that end-to-end digitization of all services will be implemented soon, so that timely and transparent delivery of services can be ensured.

It is noteworthy that Right to Service Commissions are established only in 7 states of the country and Chandigarh. Chandigarh is the only Union Territory where this commission is working. The aim of the commission is that government services should not be limited to paperwork, but should be provided to the general public on time and effectively.
