Pleasant weather in Tricity
After the rain, the weather became pleasant in the entire Tricity and people got relief from the scorching heat. The maximum temperature of the city was recorded at 39.0 degrees Celsius. In the last 24 hours, the maximum temperature fell by 2.7 degrees.
The minimum temperature was 19.3 degrees, which was 5.5 degrees Celsius less in the last 24 hours. After the rain, a drop in temperature was recorded.
Total 4.3 mm rain recorded
According to the Meteorological Department, a total of 4.3 mm rain was recorded in the Tricity in the last 24 hours, which includes 2.4 mm rain during the day. So far, the city has received a total of 62.4 mm of rain in the pre-monsoon season.
Meteorological Department Director Surendra said that the weather is likely to change again from May 19. On May 19, 20 and 21, Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula will receive rain accompanied by thunder and lightning and strong winds will blow at a speed of 40 to 50 kmph. Yellow alert has been issued in all three.
This change in weather will come due to western disturbance. The department has advised citizens to remain alert and take precautions during strong winds. On May 17 and 15, the maximum temperature is expected to be 40 to 42 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be 22 to 24 degrees Celsius.
