Today the atmosphere got heated regarding the liquor shop located near Rayat Bahra University on Mohali Kharar National Highway. Punjab Congress’ student wing NSUI and the university students forcefully closed the shop.
They say that the shop has been opened against the rules. They said that the shop does not fulfill the conditions of the policy. They said that we demand from the government that immediate action should be taken in this regard, so that people do not have to face problems.
Calls were coming continuously for 2 days
NSUI President Isharpreet Singh said that he was getting calls from the university students continuously for two days. He alleged that two girls were molested near the shop yesterday. They were going to their home. He said that the shop does not fulfill the conditions of the excise policy.
It is located just 120 meters away from the college. This is a link road. They said that we have brought books. Either let us read or we will be forced to burn these books. During this, they also burnt books.
Don’t know how permission was given
On this occasion it was told that as far as the conditions are concerned, it is located on the highway. Apart from the university, there is a temple, mosque and Gurudwara Sahib near it. They do not understand how permission was given for this. Students said that this was against the rules.
