2606 private schools of Haryana have not given the details of vacant seats to the education department under Right to Education (RTE), while the education department is constantly asking for information about vacant seats from these schools. But now the department has decided to take action against private schools not giving information about vacant seats. Concrete steps will be taken soon after completing all the formalities regarding this.
However, the department had earlier issued notices to 3134 private schools for not providing information. But now the department has given time till May 23 to provide information on the demand of private schools.
The special thing is that after sending children to these schools, the government will also reimburse the money as per the rules of RTE. It is also believed that these are the schools which do not have recognition. Therefore, if this situation remains, the government can also get these schools closed.
10 percent schools did not respond
Earlier the department had issued notices to private schools through the District Elementary Education Officer. It is written in it that under RTE, the recognized private schools for the children of disadvantaged and economically weaker sections had repeatedly opened the Sonte online portal for darshan. But the schools did not show the seats on the portal.
The Director General of Basic Education Department took cognizance of the matter and ordered to issue notice to the said private schools. But not even 10 percent of those schools have responded.
