Swine flu has knocked in City Beautiful Chandigarh. The first case of swine flu has been reported in the city. A 25-year-old woman has been found suffering from swine flu in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Sector 32. The woman has been admitted to the hospital and treatment has been started.
The woman had reached the hospital for treatment, where her RTPCR test was done on showing symptoms, in which she was found positive. However, the hospital management is being accused of negligence, because the woman has been admitted along with the general patients. According to sources, the patient has been kept in the ICU with normal patients, whereas such patients should usually be kept in separate isolation. This raises the question whether any special ward has been made for swine flu patients in GMCH or not.
This matter has come to light at a time when corona cases are also increasing across the country. Recently, PGI Chandigarh also held a press conference regarding its preparations, in which the doctors said that they have full preparation of isolation wards in case the corona cases increase. He had appealed to the public to be cautious instead of panicking.
When the Medical Superintendent of the hospital Dr. GP Dhami was talked to in this regard, he clarified that no corona patient has come to the hospital, rather this is a swine flu patient.
