In view of Diwali, important news has come to light for firecracker sellers. The district administration announced that temporary licenses for the storage and sale of firecrackers will be issued between October 7th and 11th. Dr. Harjinder Singh Bedi, Additional District Magistrate of Gurdaspur, stated that, in accordance with the order of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, temporary licenses for the sale and storage of firecrackers in the district for Diwali will be issued through a tehsil-wise lucky draw process.
A security deposit of Rs. 35,000 (refundable) must be submitted in the form of a bank draft in the name of the Magistrate, which can be deposited at the district service centers from October 7th to October 11th, 5 p.m. Following this, a lucky draw will be held from the applications received at 4 p.m. on October 13th at the District Administrative Complex, B Block, Room 416. All terms and conditions related to the temporary licenses will also be announced there.
