The admission process for the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute begins on October 15, 2025. The Punjab government has established the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute in Sector 77, Mohali. Its objective is to prepare selected youth from Punjab for recruitment as officers in the armed forces.
Department of Police, Deepshikha Sharma, stated that the institute provides specialized training to students in grades 11 and 12 for the UPSC exam and the Services Selection Board (SSB) for the NDA. Students also receive physical training, soft skills, and leadership training. She explained that the Punjab government provides training, food, accommodation, mess, uniforms, and other facilities, and students only have to pay a nominal school fee.
To date, a total of 278 cadets from this institute have been selected for the NDA. or other service academies, of which 179 cadets have been commissioned as officers. The Deputy Commissioner appealed to interested students to avail this golden opportunity and said that online forms for the new courses will be filled from October 15, 2025 and more information in this regard is available on the institute’s website.
