During a ceremony held at Noormahal to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Valmiki, Congress leader Dr. Navjot Singh Dahiya performed the ritual while standing near Nishan Sahib while wearing slippers, sparking outrage among the entire Valmiki community. Sabi Dhariwal, president of the Kamleshwar Valmiki Education Trust, Jalandhar, has written a complaint to the Jalandhar SSP, demanding that the Congress leader’s actions have hurt the religious sentiments of the entire community, which will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
The complainant has demanded that legal action be taken against Dr. Navjot Singh Dahiya under charges of hurting religious sentiments and sacrilege. He also demanded that the matter be investigated immediately, an FIR be filed, and strict legal action be taken against the perpetrators to prevent such religious sacrilege from occurring in the future.
