The agent who duped 18 people with the promise of sending them to Australia, taking ₹30 lakh in advance and providing them with fake visas and tickets, has now fled to Dubai after a case was registered. After the victims found evidence of his escape, they are now preparing to file a complaint against his wife, who was previously named in the complaint but was not named in the FIR.
Hardeep Singh, a resident of Indira Park, stated that in March 2023, Yashpal Bindra and his son, Rahul Bindra, arranged a meeting with Gulzar Singh, son of Salwinder Singh, a resident of Hoshiar Nagar, Amritsar, at his office, SCO 33, Chhoti Baradari, Phase 2. Gulzar Singh had assured them that he was involved in sending them to Australia, and they had agreed to pay ₹1.2 million per client.
Hardeep Singh said that he provided Gulzar Singh with documents and a check for ₹30 lakh to send a group of 18 people to Australia, which he approved. However, a few days later, the visas and tickets he provided to them were found to be fake at Delhi airport. Consequently, the 18 people returned home after two days of distress. When they spoke with Gulzar Singh, he returned ₹9 lakh but did not return the remaining ₹21 lakh.
A case was filed against Gulzar Singh, Yashpal Bindra, and Rahul at Police Station 7. Hardeep Singh stated that Gulzar Singh’s wife was also involved in the fraud, but since Gulzar Singh has fled to Dubai, they are now filing a police complaint against his wife and also filing a complaint with Dubai Immigration. The victims are also planning to file a complaint to have Gulzar Singh’s property confiscated.
