A case of murder of a young woman from Sangrur city in Punjab has come to light in Ontario, Canada. The body of Amanpreet Kaur Saini (27), a resident of Prem Basti, Street Number 4, Sangrur, was found in Charles Daley Park, Lincoln (Ontario).
A close relative of the deceased, and former Municipal Councillor of Sangrur, Amarjit Singh, stated that Amanpreet Kaur Saini, daughter of his brother Inderjit Singh Saini, a retired employee of a milk plant, had been living in Canada for the past four years. Her family learned about her murder in Canada on October 21st. Although the family has not yet received any information about the motive or circumstances of the murder, the Canadian police are seriously investigating the case.
The deceased, Amanpreet Kaur Saini, also has an elder sister who lives in Canada, while her younger brother, who is pursuing an ITI course, lives with his parents in Sangrur. Amarjit Singh, along with other former municipal councillors and residents of Sangrur city, have appealed to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to assist the family in bringing Amanpreet Kaur Saini’s body back to Punjab.
