Krishnu Sharda, a close associate of suspended Ropar Range DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar, who was arrested on charges of accepting bribes, was produced before a special CBI court today. During the hearing regarding the remand, the court granted the CBI a 9-day remand of Krishnu Sharda.
During the remand period, the CBI will interrogate Krishnu Sharda to expose the hidden faces of this entire bribery network. According to sources, the names of several senior officers are likely to surface during the interrogation. The CBI will now try to extract crucial information from Krishnu Sharda to expose other high-ranking officers and politicians involved in this scam.
Following the unearthing of this case, other IPS officers are also under the scrutiny of the investigating agency. It is believed that the complicity of several police officers in this bribery network may also come to light. Sources said that the CBI has received information that Krishnu Sharda also worked as a middleman for other police officers and politicians. This is why the agency is conducting an intensive interrogation to get to the root of the entire network.
