A shocking incident involving a father-son duo has come to light in the district. Claiming to have significant influence in the Aam Aadmi Party government, the father and son allegedly defrauded a man of crores of rupees by promising him a membership on the Punjab Pollution Control Board. Following a complaint by Narendra Singh, the Sarabha Nagar police station registered a case against the accused father and son, Navdeep Singh and Baldev Singh Sohal.
According to the information, the accused, Navdeep Singh Sohal and his father Baldev Singh Sohal, together deceived the complainant. They assured him that they had strong connections in the Aam Aadmi Party government and could get him a membership on the Punjab Pollution Control Board. Falling for this deception, the complainant handed over a hefty sum of 1 crore rupees to the two accused.
However, after receiving the money, the accused reneged on their promise. Neither was the complainant given any board membership, nor was his money returned. When the complainant repeatedly demanded the return of his money, the accused started making excuses and later completely cut off contact. When the matter reached the police, an investigation revealed that the accused had defrauded the complainant. The police have registered a case under sections related to cheating and fraud.
