The country’s security agencies have achieved a major success. Dangerous terrorist Kashmira Singh, a resident of Punjab who had been on the run for a long time, has been apprehended by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Bihar. Kashmira Singh came into the limelight when he shot and seriously injured Shiv Sena state deputy chief Harvinder Soni at Fish Park in Gurdaspur nearly 20 years ago. Following this incident, he was arrested and sent to the high-security Nabha jail.
Escaped in Nabha Jail Break
Kashmira Singh, along with notorious gangster Vicky Gounder, managed to escape in the Nabha jail break. All the accused involved in the jailbreak have been killed in police encounters, but Kashmira Singh remained absconding for 20 years and continued to elude agencies.
A reward of ₹10 lakh was announced
The NIA had also announced a reward of ₹10 lakh for his arrest. The search for him had been ongoing for a long time, and agencies across the country were monitoring his activities.
Major NIA Operation
Finally, the NIA conducted an operation in Bihar and succeeded in apprehending him. His arrest is being considered a major achievement for Punjab and national security agencies.
