Punjabi film actress Himanshi Khurana has received an extortion email demanding Rs 10 crore from a foreign-based gangster, prompting the Mohali police to register an FIR. A complaint was received from Himanshi regarding the email, and police sources said her security has been increased after the threat.
According to sources, an associate of Lawrence Bishnoi, Harry Boxer, demanded the money and threatened to harm the Kiratpur Sahib-born actress. Earlier, Rohit Shetty, Ranveer Singh, and B Praak had been targeted by the Bishnoi gang.
Himanshi, a model, actress, and singer in Punjabi films, appeared in the movie ‘Sadda Haq’ and participated in the reality show ‘Bigg Boss 13’ in 2019.
SP (Investigation) Saurav Jindal said, “As per the complaint, the email contained a voice note allegedly sent by a foreign-based gangster demanding Rs 10 crore as extortion money.”
Police have initiated an investigation, including efforts to trace the origin of the email and voice message. A case under Sections 308(4) and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered at the Sohana police station. Further action will be taken in accordance with the law.
