In a major operation, the district police have arrested a youth found in possession of weapons. The accused youth has been identified as Dilpreet Singh, alias Mahanti, a resident of Koharwala village in Kotkapura. According to reports, the weapons were seized from the youth, and a case has been registered against him at the Jaito Police Station.
According to the information received, a police team led by ASI Jasvir Singh of the CIA Staff, Jaito, was on patrol near Gate No. 2 of the Dana Mandi (Grain Market) on Tuesday. During this patrol, the police team received a tip-off that a youth was standing near a motorcycle under suspicious circumstances near the Sant Nirankari Bhawan on Kotkapura Road. The information further indicated that the youth was carrying a weapon.
Police Take Immediate Action
Upon receiving the information, the police team immediately rushed to the designated location and apprehended the youth, seizing the weapon from him. During the search, a 12-bore gun, four live cartridges, and a bag containing clothing were recovered from the youth’s possession. Additionally, the police seized a motorcycle lacking a registration plate from the accused at the scene. Currently, the police have registered a case against the youth. He is set to be produced in court, following which the police will seek his remand to conduct further interrogation.
