Panic gripped the area in the western part of the city—specifically in village Kadian, near Kala Singha Road—after a massive fire suddenly broke out in a scrap warehouse. Within moments, towering flames became visible from a distance, and a thick plume of smoke engulfed the sky.
Fire Tenders Arrive One Hour After Being Notified
According to eyewitnesses, the fire was first spotted in the warehouse early in the morning, prompting locals to attempt to extinguish it. However, the blaze quickly spiraled out of control, intensifying rapidly. A resident living nearby, visibly distraught and weeping, recounted how his own home had been consumed by the fire, reducing everything he owned to ashes. The affected families allege that despite having immediately reported the incident, the fire department team took nearly an hour to arrive, resulting in significantly greater damage.
People Flee for Their Lives
The incident resulted in the destruction of a considerable amount of property—including a motorcycle—all of which was reduced to ash. As the fire continued to spread, people began fleeing the scene in a desperate bid to save their lives. Currently, approximately five fire tenders from the fire department have reached the site and are actively engaged in battling the blaze; however, the sheer intensity of the fire is making it difficult to bring under control. Meanwhile, police personnel have also arrived at the scene and are closely monitoring the situation.
