A shocking incident has come to light in Gurnam Nagar, located within Amritsar’s ‘Drama Wale Bazaar’ area. In this case, a young man named Sabu—who had gone to resolve a dispute—was shot dead along with his companions, while four of his associates sustained severe injuries. The victim’s family members are outraged by the incident and have demanded immediate action against the accused.
Speaking on the matter, the deceased’s brother, Lakhbir, along with other local residents, stated that Sabu had been taken from his home by some friends to help mediate a quarrel. However, a group of youths subsequently opened indiscriminate fire, killing Sabu and critically injuring his four friends, who have since been admitted to various hospitals for treatment.
The family has also issued a stern warning to the police and the administration, emphasizing that their brother was innocent and the sole breadwinner for the household. They have vowed not to perform the last rites until his killers are brought to justice, threatening to stage protests on the streets if their demands are not met. Responding to the situation, the Station House Officer (SHO) of the ‘B Division’ Police Station stated that an investigation into the incident is currently underway; he assured the public that details would be released and appropriate action taken as soon as the inquiry is concluded.
