The Tragic End of a Love Marriage: Husband Brutally Murders Wife, Then…

Date:

In Mand Sukhewala—a village near Machhiwara—a husband brutally murdered his wife, suspecting her of infidelity. According to reports, Gurpreet Singh—who worked professionally as a combine harvester operator—had entered into a love marriage with Rajwinder Kaur approximately 11 years ago. It is alleged that the husband suspected his wife of communicating with another man over the phone. Conversely, the wife harbored similar suspicions regarding her husband, leading to a prolonged domestic dispute between the couple.

On Sunday afternoon, the dispute escalated to such an extent that, in a fit of rage, Gurpreet Singh strangled his wife—who was alone at home at the time—to death. Only the couple was present in the house when the incident occurred, as other family members had gone out. Following the murder, the accused informed a friend about the incident and then personally called the police to notify them that he was on his way to the station. Upon receiving this information, DSP Preetpal Singh and Station House Officer (SHO) Pavitra Singh, accompanied by a police team, immediately rushed to the scene, took custody of the body, and initiated legal proceedings.

DSP Preetpal Singh stated that preliminary investigations indicate the case stems from the husband’s suspicion regarding his wife’s character. The police have sent the body for a post-mortem examination, and legal action has been initiated against the accused. The accused is expected to be formally arrested shortly. The deceased woman and the accused have two young children, who have been left traumatized by this incident.

**Video Recorded and Sent to Friend After the Murder**
It is reported that after committing the murder, Gurpreet Singh recorded a video and sent it to a friend, in which he confessed to killing his wife. In the video, he is also seen stating that he took this extreme step due to his suspicions. Upon receiving this information, the Machhiwara police immediately arrived at the scene. It has also come to light that, following the crime, the accused had set off toward the police station on his own volition with the intention of surrendering. Furthermore, the video revealed that the accused subjected the body to inhumane treatment after the murder. Currently, the police are investigating the entire matter. As part of this investigation, they are determining whether or not the woman used to speak with anyone over the phone, and what the actual motive behind the suspicion leading to this incident was.
