A deeply shocking and shameful incident has come to light in the Burari area of Delhi. Here, a 36-year-old son, while in a state of intoxication, raped his 70-year-old elderly mother. This incident has shaken the entire locality.
According to reports, the elderly victim lived with her minor granddaughter and son, earning a livelihood by working in other people’s homes to support the household. The accused son had been addicted to drugs and alcohol for a long time and was unemployed. Domestic disputes were a frequent occurrence in the home. A few days prior, the accused had also physically assaulted his 16-year-old daughter, who, upset by the incident, had subsequently moved to a relative’s house. Consequently, only the elderly mother and the son remained in the home.
On the night of the incident, the accused returned home under the influence of alcohol; when his mother asked him to have dinner, he flew into a rage. It is alleged that he first held his mother captive and then sexually assaulted her. The victim spent the entire night in a state of fear and physical pain.
The following morning, once the accused had fallen asleep, the elderly woman somehow managed to free herself, called her daughter, and recounted the entire ordeal. Subsequently, the family informed the police. Acting swiftly, the police registered a case and arranged for medical examinations of both the victim and her granddaughter. The Burari police have registered a case against the accused under several serious sections of the law and have placed him under arrest.
