Threat to Bomb Ludhiana Schools; Children Sent Home Immediately

Panic ensued after Spring Dale School, located on Sherpur Road in the city, received a threat to blow up the premises. According to reports, the school management received a threatening email that also mentioned targeting railway tracks. It is reported that Manav Rachna International School, D.A.V. BRS Nagar, and Podar International School have received similar threats. Following the threatening email, the police immediately swung into action, and an intensive search operation was launched across all the affected schools. Given the safety concerns regarding the children, an atmosphere of fear and anxiety prevails among parents. School Chairperson Avinash Kaur Walia stated that students were present on the school premises when the email was received. The police were informed immediately, and as a precautionary measure, all children were safely sent home. According to the information received, the school management received an email around 9:30 AM, claiming that several schools in the city, as well as railway tracks, could be targeted. The email also warned that major explosions could occur on April 23 and 24 due to a “blackout.”
Following the threat, both the Railway Police and the local police have commenced a thorough inspection of the railway lines. Senior police officials who arrived at the scene stated that the matter is being investigated with the utmost seriousness. Efforts are underway to trace the email ID with the assistance of the Cyber ​​Cell. The police have appealed to the public not to panic and to refrain from believing in any rumors. Robust security arrangements have been put in place across the entire city, and surveillance has been heightened everywhere. Currently, the police are investigating whether this is merely a prank or part of a larger conspiracy.
