The family of the late DM Gagandeep Singh Randhawa held a significant press conference today, in which they once again raised their demand for justice. The family alleges that they have not yet received justice from the Punjab government or the Punjab Police. They stated that despite some arrests having been made in the case, the remaining accused individuals have neither been apprehended nor have comprehensive evidence been gathered against them.
The family asserted that there appears to be an attempt to let the case go cold by arresting only a single individual, while the real culprits continue to roam free. Questioning the police’s conduct in the matter, they claimed that the investigation appears to be entirely biased and that the truth is not coming to light.
Speaking to the media, Gagandeep Singh Randhawa’s wife, Upinder Kaur, spoke emotionally, stating that she was compelled to hold this press conference because, despite the passage of 35 days, no significant action has been taken. She demanded in strong terms that all remaining accused individuals be arrested immediately and be given the strictest possible punishment. She noted that while the government had previously made promises assuring the family of justice, these have, thus far, proven to be nothing more than empty promises.
Upinder Kaur further mentioned that several political leaders had visited them earlier, assuring them of every possible assistance; however, none of them returned subsequently. She clarified that she has no affiliation with any political party and that her sole objective is to secure justice for her late husband.
