Panic ensued in the Punjabi Bagh locality of Khurla Kingra, Jalandhar, when news emerged that the body of a newborn infant had been discovered lying on a garbage dump.
**Bystanders Gather After Woman Raises the Alarm**
According to reports, a woman who had arrived to collect garbage was the first to spot the newborn’s body. She stated that the infant’s body was lying amidst the refuse, with insects crawling over it. Upon witnessing this gruesome sight, the woman raised an alarm, prompting a crowd of people to gather at the scene.
**Newborn Estimated to be 2 to 3 Days Old**
Upon receiving the information, the police from Station No. 6, along with a forensic team, immediately rushed to the spot. Preliminary investigations conducted by the police suggest that the newborn was approximately 2 to 3 days old. Currently, the police are scrutinizing footage from nearby CCTV cameras in an effort to uncover facts pertinent to the case. The police have stated that further action will be taken based on the findings of the ongoing investigation.
