The Shiromani Akali Dal has today lodged a complaint against Majitha DSP Kamalmeet Singh, alleging that he mistreated party MLA Ganieve Kaur Majithia. The party has demanded the officer’s immediate transfer and the initiation of disciplinary action against him.
Speaking to reporters after submitting a complaint regarding this matter to State Election Commissioner Raj Kamal Chaudhary, Shiromani Akali Dal Chief Spokesperson Arshdeep Singh Kler noted that video footage of the DSP’s misconduct is already in the public domain. Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party candidates have declared themselves “elected unopposed” even before the formal announcement of the election results. Kler urged the SEC to restrain officials from engaging in unlawful activities at the behest of AAP leaders, warning that the party would otherwise approach the courts.
