Following a post on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, renowned actor Sonu Sood has stepped forward to advocate for the protection of dogs. Sharing a video on his Instagram account, Sonu Sood noted that orders have been issued by the Punjab CM to cull dogs. In light of these orders, he asserted that the dogs should not be killed. He further stated that he would make efforts to construct shelter homes for them.
Actor Sonu Sood went on to say that when it comes to loyalty, dogs demonstrate the highest degree of faithfulness. While there are instances where people adopt and raise stray dogs—which prove to be entirely harmless—there are also frequent reports of these same stray dogs biting children and adults in other cases. Despite this, he maintained that the dogs should not be killed.
In the video, Sonu Sood appealed to the public to come forward and adopt as many stray dogs as possible in order to save them. He pointed out that people are generally aware of which specific dogs in their locality pose a threat, and they can inform the authorities to have such dogs captured. Yet, despite these options, orders are often passed to capture and kill the dogs. He urged the public to make a concerted effort to adopt as many dogs as they can to help prevent the execution of such orders.
Sonu Sood added that, in addition to adoption, people should place collars around the necks of the dogs they feed or look after; this would serve as an indicator that the animal is not a stray, thereby helping to save its life. He reiterated his commitment to building shelter homes for stray dogs to ensure their safety and protection.
