In connection with the NEET examination paper leak scandal, the NSUI staged a massive protest in Bilaspur, gheraoing the residence of MP Tokhan Sahu. During the demonstration, a violent scuffle ensued between the police and the protesters, resulting in the kurta of Bhilai MLA Devendra Yadav being torn.
The police were compelled to deploy water cannons to disperse the increasingly agitated crowd. Authorities had erected robust barricades well in advance of the MP’s bungalow. As soon as the activists attempted to breach the barricades and push forward, a direct clash broke out between them and the police force.
A heated argument and physical shoving match took place between Congress MLA Devendra Yadav—who was leading the protest—and the police. Amidst this chaotic melee, the MLA’s kurta was completely torn. The NSUI has asserted that their movement will not cease until justice is served regarding the blatant disregard shown for the future of the students.
