Robbers in the city have become so emboldened that they are now targeting passersby in broad daylight. The latest incident has emerged from the Nooranwala Road area, where two unidentified men on a motorcycle brutally assaulted a young man who was on his way to collect a factory payment; they snatched his bag containing cash and important documents. The Meharban police have registered a case based on the complaint filed by Jaswinder Singh and have launched a search for the robbers.
In his statement to the police, the victim recounted that on the afternoon of June 3, around 1:50 PM, he was riding his motorcycle (registration number PB-91-K-4498) to collect a payment for the factory. As he neared the ‘Aloo Store’ on Nooranwala Road, two unidentified men on a motorcycle approached from behind and cornered him. The miscreants shoved him off his motorcycle and assaulted him with kicks and punches. They then snatched his bag containing money, his wallet, and the motorcycle keys before fleeing the scene.
The victim stated that his wallet contained his PAN card, driving license, and ATM card. The robbers also took the motorcycle keys with them, leaving him stranded at the spot. He indicated that he would provide details regarding the exact amount of cash later. This robbery has sparked panic among local residents. The police are currently scanning footage from nearby CCTV cameras to identify the perpetrators.
