A man employed at the toll plaza near Usma village on the Amritsar-Bathinda National Highway has been missing under mysterious circumstances for the past six days. With no leads on his whereabouts, his family is distraught; the young man’s mother and brother have appealed to the district SSP to help locate him. Harkirat Singh, son of Nirmal Singh (a resident of Sarhali Kalan), stated that his brother, Amritpal Singh (33), had taken leave from work on Wednesday and left home saying he was going to pay his respects at Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar. Amritpal Singh left at 5 PM, but when family members tried to contact him a few hours later, his mobile phone was switched off.
Harkirat Singh mentioned that a written complaint regarding the matter has been filed at the Sarhali police station, yet there is still no trace of his brother. Harkirat Singh and other relatives have urged the district SSP, Surinder Lamba, to treat the matter seriously and ensure justice for Amritpal Singh. Providing details on the situation, Sarhali Police Station In-charge Binderjit Singh stated that police teams are actively searching for Amritpal Singh in connection with the filed complaint.
