A major commotion broke out near Bhagwan Valmiki Chowk in Jalandhar. Reports indicate that a police officer’s vehicle collided with a street vendor’s cart outside the Old Court complex, sparking a heated dispute. Allegations of a scuffle arose; the vendor accused the officer of manhandling him, while the officer claimed the vendor had snatched his mobile phone.
The vendor alleged that the police officer, who was reportedly under the influence of alcohol, rammed his vehicle into the cart. He narrowly escaped being scalded by hot oil during the incident. The vendor insisted that the officer’s phone would be returned only after compensation for the damage was provided, causing tensions to escalate. Meanwhile, the vendor’s wife stated that hot oil had spilled onto her arm during the incident. The police were informed of the matter and are currently investigating the case.
