President Droupadi Murmu conferred the Padma Shri award upon Sant Niranjan Das, the head of Dera Sachkhand Ballan, at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. Several dignitaries, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, attended the ceremony.
A spiritual guru dedicated to spiritual consciousness and the welfare of humanity, Sant Niranjan Das works towards both the propagation of faith and the service of mankind. He has been spreading the message and glory of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji for the past seven decades. Sant Niranjan Das assumed the leadership of the Dera on July 23, 1994, at the age of 52. Devotees from across the country and abroad visit Dera Sachkhand Ballan to seek his blessings. He serves humanity by managing charitable hospitals and schools; notably, the 250-bed Sant Sarwan Das Charitable Hospital in Kathar provides affordable medical treatment to patients, and the Sant Sarwan Das Model School is operated in Phagwara.
