A shocking incident involving gunfire and abduction, stemming from an old rivalry, has come to light in Sector 32 (behind BCM School) on Chandigarh Road. Three friends who had come to ‘Khalsa Veg Point’ to eat Nutri-Kulcha were suddenly ambushed by 10–12 armed assailants arriving in an Innova car. To spread terror in the area, the attackers fired two shots into the air, forcibly shoved one of the youths into their vehicle, abducted him, and fled the scene. Two youths were injured in this violent clash. Upon receiving news of the incident, the ACP and the police from Division No. 7 arrived at the location with a heavy police force and initiated an investigation.
Miscreants surrounded and brutally beat the duo
According to reports, three youths—Diljot, Sachin, and Shubham—had visited ‘Khalsa Veg Point’ near Sector 32. They had previously been involved in an altercation with another group of boys. As soon as the rival group learned that the three youths were present in the Sector 32 area, they launched an attack alongside their associates. Reacting quickly to the sudden assault, Sachin managed to flee the scene, but Shubham and Diljot fell into the attackers’ clutches. The miscreants surrounded both of them and began beating them mercilessly. When Shubham showed courage and attempted to fight back, the attackers pointed a pistol directly at him. Amidst open death threats, the miscreants fired two shots into the air in quick succession, causing panic throughout the market as people scrambled to save their lives. The assailants then forcibly dragged a bloodied Shubham into their Innova vehicle and fled the scene, while Diljot sustained serious injuries during the assault. Immediately after the incident, the injured Diljot reported the matter to the police control room.
