A case involving the alleged rape of a roughly six-year-old girl has come to light in a locality in Nangal. The police have arrested the accused, who is identified as a relative (specifically, the father’s sister’s husband, or *phupha*) of the victim.
Providing details, Nangal SHO Danishveer Singh stated that the police received information regarding the alleged rape of a girl living in the area. Preliminary information indicates that the accused is related to the girl as her uncle-in-law. Police arrived at the scene and spoke with the victim’s family. Based on their statements, the accused—a migrant worker—was arrested. According to the SHO, the girl’s father stated that the family had visited relatives in Naya Nangal. When they returned home around 9:30 PM, the girl was missing. After an extensive search, she returned home crying and informed her family about the alleged incident.
Upon seeing the girl’s condition, the family immediately alerted the police. With the assistance of a forensic team, the police have seized a bedsheet, clothing, and other evidence from the scene. According to the police, the investigation is ongoing. A case has been registered against the accused under the POCSO Act and other relevant sections. He has been produced in court and remanded to police custody for three days to facilitate a thorough investigation.
