Late at night in the Kot Khalsa area, two unidentified assailants riding an Activa scooter shot and killed a young man. The deceased has been identified as Nitin, alias Cheeku. The attackers fled the scene immediately after the incident. Upon receiving the information, ADCP Vishaljit arrived at the spot with a police team and sent the body for a post-mortem examination. The police have since initiated an investigation into the matter.
According to reports, Nitin (alias Cheeku) was riding his motorcycle late at night to his sister’s house in Kot Khalsa. Just a short distance from the house, two youths on an Activa, who had been trailing him, opened rapid fire on him. Nitin was struck in the head by the bullets and collapsed on the road, drenched in blood. He was rushed to a local private hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared him dead.
ADCP Vishaljit, who is investigating the case, stated that the police reached the scene immediately upon receiving the information and began the probe. A murder case has been registered against the unidentified accused. He mentioned that one of the assailants has been identified and will be arrested soon. The ADCP also revealed that Nitin had previously been imprisoned and had recently been released on bail; several criminal cases were already registered against him.
