Today is a crucial day for Punjab government employees and pensioners. A significant hearing regarding the Dearness Allowance (DA) and arrears of the employees is scheduled to take place in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Arguments in the case continued for nearly two hours during the last hearing but could not be concluded, leading to the adjournment. Previously, a single bench of the High Court had directed the Punjab government to pay Dearness Allowance (DA) to state employees at par with central government employees.
However, the Punjab government has challenged this decision before a division bench, and the matter is set to be heard by this bench today.
