As the investigation into the seizure of 280 grams of heroin in Sri Muktsar Sahib progresses, the net is tightening around another police department official. The Sadar Police had previously arrested three individuals, including Head Constable Joginder Singh—the *Munshi* (head clerk) of the Ghubaya police outpost. Now, based on facts that emerged during the investigation, Gurnam Singh, the in-charge of the Ghubaya outpost, has also been named as an accused in the case.
The police state that the accused officer is currently absconding, and continuous raids are being conducted to apprehend him. Muktsar Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bachan Singh stated that a police team was on routine patrol late Sunday night.
During the patrol, while traveling from Jalalabad Road towards Fattanwala, they spotted a white car parked by the roadside near Badhai village. Finding the vehicle parked in suspicious circumstances late at night, the police questioned the three occupants, but they failed to provide a satisfactory explanation.
280 Grams of Heroin Recovered During Search
Acting on suspicion, the police searched the vehicle and the three individuals. During the search, 280 grams of heroin were recovered from their possession. The arrested individuals were identified as Joginder Singh (a resident of Chak Paliwala and a Head Constable serving as the *Munshi* at the Ghubaya outpost), Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh (a resident of Malout), and Dilsher Singh alias Ladi (a resident of Goniana Road).
