Another Arrest and New Revelations in Moga Sadar Police Station Grenade Attack Case
Moga Police have successfully apprehended another alleged suspect in connection with the hand grenade attack that took place on July 8; eighteen individuals had already been arrested in this case prior to this. Providing details, District Superintendent of Police Sartaj Singh Chahal stated that the arrested suspects include the three main individuals who executed the attack. He added that during the investigation, the police recovered IED explosive materials, electronic detonators, a 9mm pistol, a magazine, and the motorcycle used in the crime. He further revealed that the suspects had planned to plant an IED on the train running from Ferozepur to Jammu to cause an explosion.
He stated that Gurpal Singh, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Sadar Police Station, along with his team, apprehended Ranjit Singh—a resident of Makhu—in connection with the case. Following interrogation, the suspect was produced in court, and police remand was secured until September 8. He mentioned that the suspect is being interrogated to facilitate the arrest of other accomplices. He also noted that the investigation revealed Iqbal Singh (alias Ravi Dhaliwal), who resides in the UK, to be the mastermind behind this network; the investigation is ongoing.
