As part of an ongoing anti-drug campaign, the Salem Tabri police conducted raids on the homes of drug smugglers in the area. Police searched the residences of approximately half a dozen suspected smugglers, and reports indicate that narcotics were recovered from several of these locations.
ACP (North) Keekar Singh Bhullar and Station House Officer (SHO) Jasbir Singh Gill were present at the scene with a large police contingent during the raids. Police officials stated that this action was carried out as part of the campaign against drug abuse.
According to the police, narcotics were seized from several of the searched premises. It is reported that the accused individuals already have cases registered against them for various serious offenses. The police are now in the process of registering cases and taking legal action against the accused based on the recovered contraband.
