The District Magistrate held a meeting with the Chief Census Officer regarding preparations for the second phase of the census, personnel appointment, training, and the successful conduct of census operations. The DM emphasized that the census work must be carried out with complete transparency. Personnel must reach their assigned locations and complete their tasks on schedule. Door-to-door enumeration by staff will commence on December 1.
District Magistrate M. Arunmoli stated that the census is crucial for the country’s social, economic, and educational planning, as well as for development schemes. He directed that no area, family, or house should be left out of the enumeration and that the data collected must be entirely accurate and reliable.
Self-enumeration scheduled from November 16.
DM M. Arunmoli directed that census personnel be thoroughly briefed on every aspect and the operational methodology during their training. He called for widespread publicity regarding this process. Outlining the schedule for the second phase, he noted that the self-enumeration period is set for November 16 to 30. This will be followed by a door-to-door round from December 1 to January 4, 2027, and a revisional round from January 5 to 9. Sixty-eight field trainers have been selected for the district.
The DM insisted that there should be no negligence at any stage regarding personnel appointment, training, supervision, field visits, or other arrangements. During the meeting, the District Census Officer informed that 68 field trainers have been selected for the district; they will be responsible for training the enumerators and supervisors. Training sessions for two batches of field trainers are proposed to be held at the Collectorate Auditorium from October 7 to 9 and October 14 to 16. Subsequently, training for enumerators and supervisors is scheduled to be conducted at the tehsil level during October and November; the progress of verification was also reviewed. A review was conducted regarding the progress of verifying and subdividing HLBs (House-listing Blocks) with populations exceeding 850—which had been created during the first phase—at the charge level. District Census Officer and Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue) Chandra Prakash Pathak, Chief Development Officer Rajendra Prasad Mishra, and others were present at the meeting.
