n Thrissur, Kerala, a woman had gone to a private lodge with a male friend when five individuals, posing as police officers, abducted her. They subsequently gang-raped the woman and brutally assaulted the male friend accompanying her.
When and how did the incident occur?
The incident took place last month when the woman—a resident of Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu—visited Kerala with her male friend and stayed in a room near the KSRTC bus stand.
Shortly thereafter, five men posing as police officers forcibly entered their hotel room, bound the hands and feet of both individuals with cloth, and transported them to Tamil Nadu by car. The male friend was subjected to brutal assault throughout the journey, resulting in fractures to his limbs.
Gang-rape of the woman and assault on the friend
After dropping the male friend off at a hospital in Tiruppur, two of the men allegedly moved the woman to another car and raped her.
Based on information provided by the victim, the Tamil Nadu Police registered a case and subsequently transferred the matter to the Thrissur City Police.
Police investigation underway
The police investigation revealed that the male friend’s wife had contracted the accused to carry out the crime. She had tracked her husband’s phone location and relayed the information to the gang.
