Haryana’s creche policy was discussed in the Parliament of the country. In fact, Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma praised the Creche Policy 2022 implemented in the state regarding working women. She said that Haryana is at the forefront as compared to other states in terms of creche policy. The Rajya Sabha MP also urged other states of the country to adopt it.
During the Zero Hour in Parliament, former National Commission for Women (NCW) Chairperson Rekha Sharma underlined the critical need for creche facilities to increase female workforce participation and advance women-led development, which is an essential pillar of Developed India 2047.
Child care is the demand of the time
Highlighting that a strong child care is not only a social necessity but also an economic imperative, Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma emphasized how accessible child care enables women to contribute more effectively to the economy and nation-building. Ensuring safe and accessible child care for working mothers, Haryana has set a precedent as the first state to implement the Creche Policy in 2022.
Asks all states to adopt this model
MP Rekha Sharma urged all states to adopt Haryana’s model and establish similar frameworks to ensure universal, high-quality childcare across India. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government of India has made women-led development a national priority.
The introduction of National Minimum Standards and Protocols for Creches reflects this commitment – to strengthen child care services, boost the formal care economy, create employment opportunities and strengthen Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
