Expressing concern over rising inflation and the worsening economic situation in the country, Haryana’s former Deputy Chief Minister, Dushyant Chautala, stated that the days ahead could prove to be fraught with significant crisis for the common people. He remarked that inflation today is no longer limited merely to petrol and diesel; the nation’s economic conditions have become extremely grave, necessitating immediate and deep introspection on the part of the government.
Dushyant Chautala noted that, right at the onset of the paddy sowing season across the country, farmers are facing a major crisis regarding the availability of Urea and DAP fertilizers, as the government is failing to meet the supply demands. He emphasized that a shortage of fertilizers during the crucial sowing period is a matter of distress and anxiety for farmers—an issue that the government must address with utmost seriousness.
Former Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala pointed out that a four-rupee hike in CNG prices, an increase of approximately eight rupees in diesel and petrol rates, and the dollar touching the 97-rupee mark collectively demonstrate how the country’s economic situation is continuously deteriorating, subjecting the common people to the severe brunt of inflation. He asserted that the BJP government—which projects itself as a “Vishwa Guru” (global leader)—has so far proven to be a complete failure in curbing inflation and improving the economic landscape.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala posed a direct question to the BJP government: Will the government be able to rein in the rising prices of petrol and diesel in the coming days? Will it be able to provide farmers with Urea and DAP fertilizers in a timely manner for their sowing operations? He further added that Sulfuric Acid—a chemical most widely used in mining operations—is currently in short supply; if this shortage is not rectified in a timely fashion, the crucial work of repairing roads following the monsoon season will also come to a complete standstill in the near future.
