A severe collision occurred this morning on the Ferozepur-Fazilka road near the Janga Wala turn, involving a Mahindra pickup truck and a tractor-trailer. Approximately 7 to 8 occupants of the Mahindra pickup—which was traveling from Jalalabad to Beas—lost their lives, while around 20 to 22 others sustained injuries. The injured have been admitted to various facilities, including the Civil Hospital in Ferozepur, Anil Baghi Hospital, and Faridkot Medical College, where they are currently undergoing treatment. Several of the injured, including children, are reported to be in critical condition.
Upon receiving news of the incident, Ferozepur SSP Sardar Bhupinder Singh Sidhu and his police teams arrived at the scene and subsequently visited the various hospitals to check on the condition of the injured. According to reports, a family was traveling from Jalalabad to Beas with their relatives this morning when a speeding tractor-trailer, driven negligently, collided head-on with their Mahindra pickup near the Janga Wala turn. Some victims died instantly at the scene, while others succumbed to their injuries while being transported to the hospital. Those in critical condition are being referred to other hospitals for advanced care.
