The worship of Lord Shiva has started in the temples regarding Mahashivratri (Mahashivratri 2025). In the temples, devotees are performing Jalabhishek in Shivalaya. Due to which queues of devotees have started forming outside many temples. At the same time, temporary shops have also been decorated for Shivaratri at many places.
Devotees thronging the Shiva temples are worshiping Bilva Patra, Bhang, Dhatura and fruits and flowers during Jalabhishek. According to Hinduism, the festival of Mahashivratri is celebrated on the Chaturdashi date of Krishna Paksha of Falgun month. On this day, the anniversary of the marriage of Lord Shiva is also celebrated.
Lord Shiva’s glory will be chanted throughout the day on Wednesday at Punjab’s only Siddha Shaktipeeth Shri Devi Talab Temple. Devotees are reaching to worship Mahashivratri at Shri Siddha Baba Balak Nath Temple Sukha Talab, Chowk Kishanpura. On the occasion of Mahashivratri in Muktsar, a large number of devotees are reaching the temples to worship.
The historic Gaganji Ka Tilla Shiv Mandir established by the Pandavas is situated at the highest altitude in Punjab and one can reach here by climbing 766 steps.

Mahashivratri festival is being celebrated with great pomp in the temples of Phagwara city.
