Another sensational revelation has emerged in the case involving the blast on the railway track in the Shambhu area of Patiala. A major explosion occurred on the Shambhu-Ambala railway line on Monday night, causing damage to the tracks near Shambhu. A severed human torso was also recovered from the railway track.
**Identification of the Deceased**
According to police sources, the body belongs to the accused individual who had come to plant a bomb on the railway track; however, the device detonated while he was attempting to place it, blowing his body to pieces. A significant and crucial revelation has now surfaced in this case: the police have identified the accused who was killed in the explosion. According to the police, the accused has been identified as Jagroop Singh, son of Lakhwinder Singh, a resident of Panjwar village in the Tarn Taran district. The deceased’s motorcycle was recovered in Amritsar, and a train ticket from Sirhind to Rajpura was found in his pocket. The police have also recovered a mobile phone from his possession, and the call details are currently being scrutinized. According to police sources, the deceased, Jagroop Singh, was a close associate of the pro-Khalistan MP Amritpal. He had also campaigned for Amritpal during the 2024 elections.
According to sources, the Tarn Taran police have taken the accused’s brother, Satnam Singh, into custody and have commenced his interrogation. The explosion damaged a section of the railway line—specifically shattering the stone slabs embedded between the tracks—prompting the Railway Department to halt all traffic on the line.
Meanwhile, SSP Varun Sharma stated that the railway track sustained damage as a result of the blast. The explosion was, in fact, part of a conspiracy to blow up the railway track.
The incident occurred around 10:00 PM near a railway track designated for freight trains. Upon receiving information about the explosion, senior police officers—including the SSP of Patiala—rushed to the scene. Officers from the Railway Police and the Railway Protection Force also arrived at the site. “It was a low-intensity explosion,” the SSP stated.
