The Punjab government has started a war against drugs. A five-member high power committee has been formed to monitor it. The committee’s job will be to keep an eye on the action being taken against drugs. Five ministers have been included in the committee. It will be headed by Finance Minister Harpal Cheema. Cabinet ministers and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Aman Arora, Balbir Singh, Laljit Singh Bhullar and Taranpreet Sondh will be members of the committee.
The committee will take feedback from the ground and give a report to the CM
A committee has been formed by the Punjab government under WAR ON DRUGS. This committee will work on the ground. Will go among the people at the village level. Will talk to them. It will also see whether the government’s campaign is going on well or not. The committee will give its report to CM Bhagwant Mann. After this the process of improvement will go on.
Focus on Assembly Elections 2027
The government’s focus is on the 2027 assembly elections. Drugs have been a big issue in the last three assembly elections of Punjab. Now there is a plan to completely eradicate drug abuse in Punjab and take strict action against drug smugglers before the next elections. Earlier, on the lines of UP, bulldozer action was taken in Ludhiana. Here the construction of a drug smuggler was demolished.
