Terrorist Harwant Singh alias Harry of the terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa International was arrested by the local police from Dadwa area of Chandigarh on Monday.
Harry is involved in many incidents in Punjab and the police was looking for him for a long time. Last week, Chandigarh Police arrested two accused Jobanjit Singh alias Billa and Sumandeep Singh alias Simma associated with the gang of terrorist Happy Pasian.
Police launched a special operation, Harry surrendered
During interrogation, Jobanjit gave information about Harry. Based on the input received from Jobanjit, Chandigarh Crime Branch came to know that terrorist Harry was around Dadwa. Police launched a special operation to catch him. Seeing the heavy police force, Harry surrendered.
Live cartridges and pistol recovered
Police have recovered a pistol and three live cartridges from him. Investigation revealed that he was active in Punjab. He used to work for Mannu Agwan and Happy Pasian. He has been involved in many anti-national activities. Several criminal cases are also registered against him in Amritsar, Punjab.
The police say that the terrorists were planning to carry out a major incident in Chandigarh. But the crime branch has foiled this conspiracy. The police have arrested three accused so far. Police recovered a large amount of RDX and weapons from Jobanjit Singh and Sumandeep. Later, the police destroyed the RDX in the jungle of Sector-39.
Harry used to provide weapons to the attackers
Many major incidents have taken place in Punjab in the last two years. Many police stations were targeted and hand grenades were thrown there. According to Chandigarh Police SP Intelligence Manjeet Sheoran, Harry is also involved in these incidents. He used to arrange weapons for the attackers. In return for providing weapons, he used to charge a huge amount from Happy Pasiyan and his associates Mannu Agwan, Gopi Navanshahriyan. All of them work for terrorist Harinder Singh Rinda sitting in Pakistan.
